Joyce's first litter!

Joyce's foster family was nice enough to email me some pictures from their visit this morning. It has made my puppy fever go completely nuts. I can't wait until I can cuddle one of these little guys! Countdown to Thanksgiving...

Settling In

Our move is complete! There's nothing like moving to make you want to burn everything you own. Truth.

Chicken and Red Bean Enchiladas

It's been a bit of a crazy week! We're maybe 75% done with packing. I was very sad to start packing up my kitchen stuff. Goodbye, blender. Goodbye, casserole dish. Goodbye, glasses and plates. Goodbye, cutting boards.

I've been spending a lot of time crocheting and watching 30 Rock.

Clearly I am not yet a master

SO this is a lazy day. I'm trying to use up as much of what is in our pantry/freezer/fridge as possible. This means using more canned foods than would normally use.

Challah

When celebrating the new year, challah is shaped round to symbolize the circle of life.

I attempted to braid mine, but it didn't turn out so well. Also this was my second attempt and I did have help (thanks, husband!).

Where I've been

I've been MIA lately. I know. Sorry! I've been sick and a whole lot is happening in my life right now.

Getting ready to move and in the middle of the application process for Birthright. Hopefully we'll both be accepted and will be able to go before the deployment.

With Rosh Hashanah coming up I'm going to be trying a few new recipes. Be on the lookout for new posts!
