Salt Potatoes

This week I learned that salt potatoes are a regional thing. I had no idea! They're from CNY because of all the salt mines in the area.

It kind of explains why I didn't know what they were before I moved here, but that's beside the point.

SALT POTATOES

2.5 lbs potatoes
1 cup course salt (I used sea salt)
3 tablespoons of butter

Fill up a large pot with water. Add salt and stir until the salt stops dissolving.

Wash your potatoes and add them to the pot. Bring to a boil and put the top on the pot.

Check at 12 minutes and see if the potatoes are tender. If they aren't, keep them in the boiling water until they are.

Drain the potatoes and put them in a separate bowl. Chop up the butter and throw it in. The potatoes are hot enough to melt it. That's one less dish to wash later!

Stir those bad boys up.
Make a smiley with sassy eyebrows in mustard on The Boy's hamburger bun.

Enjoy with a turkey burger and ginger ale! I gobbled mine up. :P

I need to get on taking pictures more. I just got a cast iron skillet (first ever!) and I'm making just about everything in it.
